Note A: the DC path
The panels connect to the controller, which drives the DC motor; no utility connection is part of this loop.
Unlike a grid-tie inverter, no AC is needed for the solar to work.
Note B: the optional AC path
Land AC on the controller and it takes over automatically when solar falls short, as with a spa at night.
Leave the AC terminals empty and the drawing still functions on sunlight.
Note C: expected result
Field results run $100 to $250 a month saved, scaled by tariff and irradiance.
